If you’re looking for a different way to experience the Soccer World Cup, with the best vibe in town, head to the Radisson RED hotel in Silo Square at the V&A Waterfront.
These creative guys have done something phenomenal, and turned their OUIBar + KTCHN into a soccer-lovers paradise. Set up like a soccer stadium, complete with grandstands and Astroturf, there are even benches along the sides, and soccer-themed beanbags, to view the games on the big screen. So you can experience the soccer in an (almost) real-life setting, with the energy and ambience of a stadium, but the comfort of a cool and connected restaurant-bar (yes, there is free high-speed Wi-Fi, so you can tweet chirps and challenges to your friends, as well as selfies of you and your craft beer, cocktails and gastro-cuisine #MakeThemJealous).
Speaking of cuisine, being a couch-supporter is hungry and thirsty work, and RED has a fantastic menu that tempts even the most thrill-seeking of taste buds. From burgers and rib-eyes, to fresh vegetarian dishes – RED has a bit of everything. And in the drinks department, you can sip on the ‘usual suspects’ or RED’s own inspirational concoctions (hot and cold), along with great wines and beers, cocktails, spirits and gins.
The soccer games will be screened live, so plan your trip to RED around your favourite games. You can’t book, so make sure to get there early as space is on a first-come, first-served basis. The bar is open from 12pm to 2am every day. For more info, contact 087 086 1578.
